 | The Emergency Department offers emergency health services to the community 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week to patients of all ages.
The Emergency Department is staffed with qualified physicians and nurses providing care 24 hours per day. The patient care is provided by a Registered Nurse certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Many of the staff are also certified in Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum and Advanced Burn Life Support.
Lawrence County Memorial Hospital is a 5-bed emergency department that treats a variety of illnesses and/or conditions ranging from the minor cuts to life threatening emergencies. A negative air pressure room is available for patients as well as a decontamination room.
Lawrence County Memorial Hospital's ED prides itself on its ability to provide competent, quality care while recognizing that if, after initial exam and stabilization, it would be of best interest to transfer the patient for more specialized care arrangements will be made and the care never compromised to the patient.
A helipad is located just outside the Emergency Department entrance to assist in the transport of the trauma patient to a tertiary facility if necessary. |  |
