Occupational Medicine

Occupational Medicine is a medical service provided to a company or individual. This service varies in scope from the very restricted to the comprehensive, such as managing all clinical and preventive services. The physician’s role is to understand the candidate’s intended job to assess the candidate’s medical suitability for the job and to provide a medical opinion on the appropriateness of the placement. Services provided may include, but are not limited to, pre-placement and periodic examinations, screening pulmonary functions, screening audiograms, and drug screens. Results of the findings are assessed on a timely basis. Accurate record keeping is an important aspect of occupational medicine.
