Services Offered

Physical Therapy
Movement and exercise designed to increase strength, mobility and endurance. Most often used following orthopedic surgery, for neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury and multiple sclerosis. Therapy can take place in the hospital or as an outpatient. Evidence-based treatments may include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, cold packs and moist heat. These different kinds of treatment are used for managing pain, muscle re-education and increasing circulation to improve healing after surgery or injury. They also help decrease the need for pain medication.

Occupational Therapy Services
Helps patients maximize their independence with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and cooking after surgeries or injuries. Our services are most often used to help patients with orthopedic conditions involving the shoulder, arm, wrist, and hand, plus neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury and multiple sclerosis with fine-motor skills training and critical-thinking skills training. We also help with work injuries and return-to-work programs.

Speech Therapy
Evaluation and treatment of communication, cognitive and swallowing abilities, congenital and developmental disorders in the pediatric population, as well as acquired problems related to stroke, brain injury and neurological conditions. Therapy can take place in the hospital or as an outpatient.

Swallowing Disorder Services
  • Modified barium swallow study
  • VITAL STIM (electrical stimulation for swallowing disorders)
Voice Disorder Services
Voice disorders can be described as a change in voice quality, pitch, or loudness. The voice quality can be regarded as inappropriate for the patient’s age, gender, culture or even geographical location as per definition of the Association of Speech-Language Hearing Associations. Causes can be functional, neurogenic or structural.

Short-Term Rehab / Swing Bed
Some patients need short-term rehabilitation or skilled nursing care after being hospitalized. Medicare calls this type of care a “swing bed,” but to us, it is just our family taking care of your family until it is possible to return home.

While in short-term rehab, care is individualized but may include:
  • Skilled nursing care
  • Physical, speech, and/or occupational therapy
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Activities
  • Ancillary services (lab, imaging, respiratory therapy, pharmacy)
Once goals are met or maximum recovery is achieved, a member of our team will help make preparations for discharge.
