Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac Rehabilitation combines exercise and education to help you return to an active and productive lifestyle after your cardiac event.

Lawrence County Memorial Hospital’s cardiac rehab program is professionally supervised by a team of physicians and trained cardiopulmonary staff to help you reach your maximum potential. You are eligible to participate in cardiac rehab after experiencing any of the following:

  • Heart attack
  • Valve replacement
  • Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
  • Stent placement
  • Stable angina pectoris

Phase I - In-Patient Cardiac Rehab
While you are in the hospital, this progressive low-level activity helps you overcome the effects of bed rest and reduce anxiety related to hospitalization.

Phase II - Outpatient Cardiac Rehab
This program combines exercise and education to help you return to an active and productive lifestyle after your cardiac event. You are carefully monitored during the program, and activity and education are customized for each patient’s needs. Phase II begins after discharge from the hospital and usually will last 12 weeks. Your physician starts the process with a referral to cardiac rehab.
